About PrintApex

We give wide-format operators superhuman situational awareness.

Wide-format print is loud, mechanical, and unforgiving — a single misregistered color pass can ruin a hundred-foot roll of substrate. PrintApex is the AI that watches every press, around the clock, and tells the on-floor operator what to act on before the customer call comes in.

Origin

Built from the floor, not the deck.

PrintApex came out of a long, quiet argument inside wide-format shops. The founding team had spent years on production floors — running roll-to-roll presses, hand-rolling RIPs through vendor updates, and explaining to customers why a hundred-foot roll of substrate had to be scrapped because a banding fault landed two passes too late.

We kept watching the same thing happen, on different floors, in the same week. The defect never showed up where the operator could see it. It had already wound onto the take-up reel, made its way through QC, and landed in the customer's inbox before anyone caught the call — a re-print, a refund, a lost week.

What didn't exist was an AI that watched the frame continuously, scored the defect in milliseconds, and pushed a single, trusted number back to the floor. The shape of the problem was obvious; the product didn't exist. So we built PrintApex to fill that exact gap — small enough to mount on a single press, fast enough to score one frame per pass, and structured around the operators who actually run the floor.

What we stand for

Three values, every build.

The product, the org chart, and the way we ship all lean on the same three values — measured against every release before it lands in front of a customer.

Autonomy
Run without the babysitter.

The team works without daily check-ins; the product runs without babysitting. The edge device mounts on the press, scores each frame in milliseconds, and reports back only when something needs a human — the operating posture we design against.

Zero waste
Nothing rolls through that shouldn’t.

Every defect caught is substrate and ink preserved. Banding, color shifts, and misregistration stop the roll before they reach the take-up reel — nothing scrolls past the camera that the customer shouldn’t be billed for.

Creative liberation
Trade craft back to the operator.

Operators get to spend their shift on color, alignment, and finishing — not on chasing bad prints through the QC bin. The work they joined the trade for, the AI hands back, shift after shift.
